With the MSC World Class series, Chantiers de l’Atlantique is carrying out one of the largest shipbuilding programs currently underway in Europe. Designed for MSC Cruises, these eight next-generation ships combine operational performance, technological innovation, and heightened environmental standards, with staggered deliveries scheduled through 2030.
Designing these liners involves integrating thousands of pieces of equipment and coordinating numerous technical disciplines within highly constrained spaces. It also aligns with the maritime sector's environmental evolution, notably through the use of LNG, energy optimization, shore-to-ship power, and advanced water and waste treatment systems.
Chantiers de l’Atlantique must ensure the technical consistency of each ship throughout its development while coordinating a wide range of trades and equipment within a particularly complex environment. The challenge lies in managing interfaces between different disciplines, anticipating integration constraints, and supporting the technical evolution of each unit, all while maintaining the quality and safety standards expected across the entire program.
