The Position: Data Analyst

We are seeking a Systems & Data Analyst to join the Quality function, providing independent insight into programme performance across the Hinkley Point C project. This role will be responsible for transforming complex data into meaningful intelligence, enabling informed decision-making and driving continuous improvement across quality and operational performance.

The successful candidate will act as a key reporting and analytics specialist, developing Power BI dashboards, improving data quality, and delivering performance insights that support programme objectives within a large-scale, highly regulated project environment.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Data Analyst will include:

• Design, develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to support performance management across the programme.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify key trends, performance issues, risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate and insightful management information to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain data models, reporting structures and visualisations that improve understanding of programme performance.
• Support the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources to ensure consistency and reliability of reporting outputs.
• Investigate performance trends and root causes, providing recommendations to improve business outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into effective analytical solutions.
• Promote data quality, reporting standards and governance practices to establish trusted and reliable management information.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through the provision of performance analytics and business intelligence expertise.

Preferred Profile:

• Demonstrable experience developing advanced Power BI dashboards and business intelligence solutions.
• Strong data analysis, reporting and data visualisation skills.
• Experience managing and interpreting large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data modelling and reporting architecture.
• Proven ability to identify trends, investigate root causes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and requirements gathering skills.
• Degree qualified in a numerate discipline, such as Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience within major infrastructure, engineering, construction or capital project environments is desirable.
• Project management qualifications or training, such as APM PMQ or PRINCE2, would be advantageous.
• Experience supporting Quality, Project Controls, Performance Management or Programme Delivery functions would be beneficial.
• Experience working within a highly regulated industry, such as nuclear, defence, energy or transportation, is highly desirable.
