Descriptif du poste

Site Construction Coordinator

Due to project growth, we’re looking for a Site Construction Coordinator to join our Construction & Quality team, supporting the installation of pressurised rotating mechanical equipment on a major UK nuclear project.

This role sits on site and focuses on the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of complex mechanical works during the mechanical erection phase; from civil handover through to the start of commissioning. You'll be at the heart of construction delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly between contractors, logistics, planning, and quality functions.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Site Construction Coordinator will include:

  • Manage contract partners with the delivery of their work packages, helping to keep construction activities moving safely and efficiently.
  • Taking early action when safety or quality concerns arise, including reviewing documentation, calling coordination meetings, or issuing comms - to avoid unnecessary delays.
  • Monitoring works on site and maintaining a clear daily site log, reporting key updates and issues to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager.
  • Coordinating with site functions such as health and safety, quality, surveillance, commercial, logistics, and planning to ensure everyone stays aligned and well-informed.
  • Attending daily and weekly planning and technical meetings with contractors, capturing key actions and ensuring updates are shared appropriately.
  • Carrying out and recording site inspections to support the project’s safety and assurance objectives.
  • Keeping clear, two-way communication open with the Construction Delivery team, escalating any issues or blockers for timely resolution.

The Site Construction Coordinator at Vulcain Engineering UK will play a key role in supporting specialist mechanical construction activities across major nuclear and infrastructure projects, and will directly support a variety of high-profile, high-value nuclear new build projects, offering a unique opportunity to grow your career on some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes in decades.

Profil recherché

  • Educated in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or another relevant subject.
  • Experience working with pressurised mechanical components such as centrifugal pumps or industrial gearboxes. Other rotating components may also be considered.
  • Experience with project delivery, in particular construction delivery, recovery plans and resource allocation. Understanding of CDM regulations is essential.
  • Proven experience in coordinating or managing contract partners with delivery of construction work packages.
  • Understanding and experience with the use of precision measuring tools; such as micrometer, dial gauge, calliper, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and coordination, with a focus on clear, consistent communication across teams.
  • You will have indefinite and independent right to work in the UK, due to the high level of security clearance required on several of our UK Nuclear sites.
  • This position will be based full time on-site in Bridgwater, Somerset - so the ability and flexibility to work on site, as well as openness to various shift patterns is a must.
